5 Simple Tips to Keeping Dinner Time, Family Time
After a long day’s work, coming home to create a fabulous meal for all to eat and enjoy as a family seems like such a daunting task. So many times, dinner is “thrown” together with basically whatever can be found, or we may even hit the drive through to make it even more simple. Sound familiar? Believe me, I know how this can happen and how much easier it seems to make your life but…
Does it really?
I have told you about my typical 2 hour daily commute both ways and I am sure many of you can relate. The problem is that we get so caught up in that daily routine that we forget what is really important. It’s the family that matters most.
I have been working on really making home time, time for the family. There are a few things to make dinner time work better.
1. I absolutely love the crock pot. The meals are always great and it could not be easier.
2. Plan out 5-6 meals on the weekend and be sure you have the ingredients handy so no store-stops are necessary during the work week.
3. Be sure the meat you will be using is taken out of the freezer and placed into the refrigerator at least a day in advance. This allows for thawing without risking bacterial growth by thawing on the counter.
4. Prepare what you can ahead of time whether it be the night before or the in the morning before you leave. You’ll be glad you did!
5. Make your meals simple! Kids love simple.
