Understand Your Baby’s Cries

It’s a fact that babies cry. They have no other means of communication but to cry. The key to happiness for you and your baby is to understand these cries. Especially in those first weeks and months after bringing baby home, parents are working hard to figure out what their baby needs and when. It can be difficult to crack the baby communication code when you are sleep deprived and recovering from such an experience as child birth. When I first heard Pricsilla Dunstan talking about communicating with your baby on the Oprah show I was overjoyed. It was a life saver while we tried to get to know our new bundle of joy.

Our first child was one of those babies that needed to cry A LOT! and I mean a lot! I still don’t know why but what I do know is that as he grows he is unique in many ways, is a bit moody, has very specific needs, wants, feelings, and convictions. It made deciphering the language code a lot more difficult in the first 2-3 years of life. I still am not sure what happened during those years as I was sort of in a daze, if you will. These tips helped us analyze his cries and decide which cries were ones that we could solve and which cries were ones we needed to let him work through. (Those were the hardest and most frustrating but we made it :-) ) Check this video out to help you understand your babies cries. Let us know how the Dunstan Baby Language helps you!
