Family Game Night
Family Night Just Got More Exciting..
When our extended family gets together we love to play games. I think we love the competition of the minds and seeing who really can emerge victorious.
Children crave individual attention from their parents. What better way for both parent and child to enjoy some time together. And better yet, it won’t cost a cent (after you purchase the game:-)).
My own boys have really taken off on this tradition and we have begun playing family games at night together. We might play a quick game of war on a school night or Scrabble Slam Cards on a weekend when we have more time. This has become a real treat for us and our children.
Check out some of my favorite family games…
Take the boredom out of dinner time with this fun family game.

Scrabble Slam Cards
This game is a lot of fun to play with any size group. We have had up to 8 players at a time. It is a great learning game for younger players as it requires some spelling and thinking skills. For the young at heart, it is just plain fun to stump your competitors.
Learning and playing is a great way to have fun with children. I use this game not only with my own children but my students at school. They love it and request it over and over.
Dinner and a Movie
Want a fun inexpensive family date idea? Ordering take out from your favorite restaurant and renting a movie is a fun twist on the concept. Get your child’s input on the dinner and movie choice to make them feel an active part of the planning process and enjoy the time you get to spend together in the comfort of your own home.
